This image is built up from city textures on R St in Sacramento. A rusted panel contributes the blue hue, the diamond shaped texture comes from the door of the parking garage where Gabriel kept his car before he died of COVID 19 a week before vaccinations became available, and the horizontal stripes were created by soft sandstone bricks.
It says "violence," not to condone it, but to acknowledge that the experience of watching your lover be dead named, their life rewritten to suit a narrative that excludes your love and how you knew them, is itself a form of it.
