2024. This tapestry was created for wedding celebrants, from pressed plastic reclaimed from the packaging used to transport wedding gifts. The plastic was painted with acrylic paint, allowed to dry, and then pressed again. This created a very thick and firm material. I also attempted to press the silk-plastic flowers into the plastic, which was mildly successful. I then stitched a meditation path through the piece, tightening the hold on the flowers, petals, and leaves.
While creating the object, I imbued it with a prayer to provide that the happy couple always has access to little treats and local street food.
