I painted this tree from my apartment window on March 28th, 2020. The city had been on lock down for two weeks, and I needed to run to the grocery store. We still didn't know anything, so I taped myself into a makeshift hazmat suit and took the risk. As I was leaving, a man ran up to me in the parking lot, screaming at me about how much he hated women. I jumped in my car and flew out of there.
Once I was home, I painted this, an acceptance of the choices I'd made, and any consequences that would follow.
