Cindy swears I painted this one, and I signed it like I was signing things in 2021 when I was painting downstairs in my apartment on 26th & V.
I have this egotistical anxiety: could I haven taken a screenshot of a Caravaggio and put my signature over it and forgot I did it? It seems like something would have done when I first got my iPad and was creating just for me + promising myself that I’d be good enough someday.
but Caravaggio wasn’t influenced by a revulsion for the works of Richard Diebenkorn in the same way I am. Come on everybody let’s organize colors into shapes because everything needs to be turned into a process, this time in a light box.
