2021 & 2025. I experimented with mono printing brush strokes, then used the painted papers to create this collage. It depicts a scene at a river. On one side, two figures representing Jochebad and Batya, pass a baby in a basket, and a third figure, Miriam, keeps watch. On the other bank, a tree of life grows into a rainbow.
At the Torah Studio project, we were discussing that the word for basket and ark are the same in Hebrew. In abstracting this allegory, I intend to depict the energy flow from yesod into malchut and celebrate the midwifery involved in tikkun olam.
