2018. One of the surest ways to get museums to notice one's art (which, as a fine artist, is an obsession of mine) is to create art based on the statues they display. Surely, the museum has an ego, surely the museum wants to be worshiped in cross-contour lines and oil-based ink, surely the museum wants to be immortalized. Surely.
Just think... if you buy one of these three intaglio prints of the Arpeggio IV statue in front of the Crocker Art Museum, and I achieve art world recognition, the museum will have to come to you and borrow this work, and then there will be a little sign that says "On Loan from The [Your House] Collection," and everyone will know you were there before it was cool.
A piece of copper was etched using classic intaglio methods, and a limited run of three prints was created with oil-based ink on archival cotton paper. They ship numbered and signed, with a certificate of authenticity. 5"h x 4"w with a border (total dimensions: 5.75" x 7.75").
